We are proud to announce the details of our Food Day Event! Food Day is designed to promote the following 6 principles:
For more Food Day info, check out http://www.foodday.org.
We are planning a crowd sourced pot-luck dinner where we tell the stories of our meals through a Food Day CSP site. The goal is to create a community multimedia journal for the Boston community to follow. The best dishes with the best stories, as judged by our panel of Boston food personalities, will win prizes from companies like:
- Maggie Battista, Founder of Eat Boutique
- Christine Liu, Social Media Editor at America's Test Kitchen
- Catherine Walthers, Author of Soups + Sides, President of Martha's Vineyard chapter of Slow Food
Stay tuned for updates on swag, prizes, and judges as they are confirmed!
If you weren't feeling great enough about fabulous food, cool people, and a great cause, the net ticket sales will be donated to The Food Project, which builds leadership and community around food and farming and Lovin' Spoonfuls Food Rescue, which rescues healthy food that would otherwise be wasted and redirects it to the hungry.
To RSVP for the event, whether you provide your own dish or just want to eat, go to the Food Day CSP invitation.
If you can't wait until the 24th to make your Food Day impact, we need you! We are looking for "real food" sponsors, partners, and volunteers to make the day delicious, healthy, and fun! Please send us a message through the form below if you or your organization would like to be a part of the Boston Food Swap Food Day Team!
We'd also like to give special thanks to America's Test Kitchen for lending us their social media editor and New Leaf Legal for being the two coolest attorneys on the planet!
